FORMAT OF FEHL

A. TRAINING CLINICS

As we all know, the importance of correct Training cannot be overemphasised, particularly where young horses are involved. We strongly urge all potential competitors to prepare themselves and their horses for the FEHL League by participating in as many of our Training Clinics as possible.

These will be conducted by well-known equestrian personalities with international experience at the highest level in both disciplines of Dressage and Jumping.

Thanks to the generosity of The Irish Horse Board, we are able this year to offer our participants two different training schedules, in a greatly expanded programme:
Eight x 2 = Sixteen Evening Sessions (ES1 and ES2), held during April and May at two different venues: Dollanstown Stud, Kilcock, Co. Kildare and Killusty House Stud, Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

The purpose of these clinics is to show potential competitors the correct way of riding their young horses in correct outlines and balance from which their genetic and athletic potential can best be realised. The Trainer will give individual help to each participant with his/her own horse and, where necessary, ride the horse for further emphasis. The correct 'Presentation' (see below) of the horse before an S&P judge will also be included. A lot of thought and effort has gone into the planning of these clinics to achieve continuity and progression and we cannot urge you strongly enough to take part in them with your young horse.

We are very pleased to enclose with this Schedule an Invitation for you to come to one of our social evenings before the start of these two series

Entry Fee: ONLY €160 for each series - The Sessions will be limited to 10 participants each evening, on a strictly first-come-first-served basis

Six Introductory Clinics (IC1 to IC6), held at different FEHL venues during June and July. These clinics, also for 4- and 5-year olds, will consist of a session of Basic Flatwork in the morning and Jumping in the afternoon and will introduce competitors to the tests and the type of fences they will encounter at the League Qualifiers. Again, the practice of a correct 'Presentation' will be included.

Entry Fee: ONLY €40 plus a deposit of €40 per horse, covering one entry fee for the Qualifiers which will be credited when the entry is made. - Entries to the Clinics will be strictly limited, on a first-come-first-serve basis, as above.
