Royal Dublin Society - Season 2009
YOUNG EVENT HORSE CLASS

The joint initiative between the Future Event Horse League and the Royal Dublin Society will continue in 2009. Upwards of twenty 4-year olds and twenty 5-year olds may qualify with FEHL for RDS Young Event Horse Class. The 1st and 2nd prize-winners in both age sections at each Qualifier - if achieving the required MAS - will qualify for the RDS class. In the event of either the nominated qualified combinations (the top two in each section) not taking their place the RDS class, the Chief Steward reserves the right to offer it to the next highest placed competitor in that section.

Further details of this class will be available on the RDS Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show Schedule and will be available at the FEHL Qualifiers.

RDS YOUNG RIDER DERBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
QUALIFYING ROUNDS IN 2009
(Generously sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland )

The three FEHL venues (excluding the Final) following the 2009 Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show will each qualify up to 4 combinations for the Young Rider Derby Championship to be held in the Main Arena of the RDS during the Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show in 2009.

Riders must be under 20 years of age on 1st January 2009.

Horses must be Irish-bred, with passports corroborating this fact.

Jumping will be over the full Speed Derby course of fences up to 1.15 metres. Those with a clear first round will jump off against the clock to determine the 4 qualifying places.

Entry Forms are available directly from the RDS or may be downloaded from their website www.rds.ie and must be returned to them one week before each Qualifier.

The unique innovation of this procedure is to offer all those who qualify access to autumn and spring training clinics to cultivate and improve their potential. The 2010 RDS Young Rider Derby Championship will be the pinnacle of this process. Entry fee: €35.
